The Crim Festival of Races is happening in downtown Flint this Saturday. The Flint Children’s Museum will be hosting a super fun event on the lawn of UM Flint on the corner of Saginaw Street and Kearsley Street. Become an official Flint Children’s Museum Spy after completing your training.
The museum is right on the 3 mile marker of the Crim race! Because we are right in the middle of the course the museum will be closed this Saturday, August 24th. We will be here to cheer on the runners and to provide a sprinkler to cool down under!
Join us in Sproutside this Saturday, August 17th for our Stone Soup Celebration!
Who: all of our wonderful museum guests!
What: enjoy a performance of Stone Soup by the Kearsley Park Players. Fill your belly with stone soup freshly prepared by Bob Evans. Help harvest veggies from our garden.
When: August 17, 1-3pm.
Where: Sproutside at the Flint Children’s Museum.
Why: to celebrate a great summer and harvest in Sproutside.
We hope to see you here!
We cut some white flowers from around Sproutside and stuck them in colored water. One of the daisies is in both green and blue water. What do you think will happen? Comment with your kids’ ideas!
Stop by the museum any day in July for fun water activities!
Our rain gauge shows that we got about 1/2 inch of rain yesterday, but today’s forecast is perfect for a day in Sproutside! Today (July 9) is $2 Tuesday at the Flint Children’s Museum.
Bring a picnic lunch and even taste some fresh snap peas and green beans from our garden and play all day for just $2!
International Mud Day is for children all over the world to celebrate nature, outdoors, and mess by getting really muddy. Join us at the Flint Children’s Museum on Saturday, June 29!
Our Mud Pie Cafe will be open for business, so be sure to bring your play clothes and be ready to make some yummy mud pies.
Tomorrow, Saturday, June 15th is Free Access Day at the museum thanks to the Michigan Virtual Charter Academy.
Play in the museum and then join us in Sproutside for science experiments, face painting, and other fun games and activities!
The museum is open 10am-5pm and Sproutside is open 11am-4pm.
Today was the perfect day to enjoy a picnic lunch in Sproutside. There is plenty of space in the shade, or on the grass in the warm sunshine!
What a great time our new friends had on their field trip! Thanks for playing with us today!
Just a friendly reminder from a little toad in Sproutside. Keep in mind when playing outside that many animals, insects, and plants live there too. Make sure to pick up your litter to keep our friends in nature happy. 🙂
The Turtle sits on top of the hill all day, watching lots of kids play in Sproutside. Here he is watching his new friend play in the sand box.
Mr. Turtle also watches our garden grow.
He loves to watch as families splash in the water tables!
He also likes to use our Weather Windows to see what types of clouds are in the sky. Are those fluffy cumulus clouds he sees?
Mr. Turtle was decorated by children with special needs. He turned out beautiful, and our guests love to see him sparkling in the sun. Come visit Mr. Turtle and see all of his favorite things in Sproutside!
Sproutside opens today! It will be open Tuesday – Saturday 11am-4pm and 1pm-4pm on Sundays.
