The Crim Festival of Races is happening in downtown Flint this Saturday. The Flint Children’s Museum will be hosting a super fun event on the lawn of UM Flint on the corner of Saginaw Street and Kearsley Street. Become an official Flint Children’s Museum Spy after completing your training.
The museum is right on the 3 mile marker of the Crim race! Because we are right in the middle of the course the museum will be closed this Saturday, August 24th. We will be here to cheer on the runners and to provide a sprinkler to cool down under!
Did you know that Sproutside is the largest exhibit at the Flint Children’s Museum? It is the perfect place to run around and enjoy the outdoors.
There are different activities everyday including games, crafts, and educational programs.
And there are new features all the time, too! Check out the new kites that decorate the fence. Last year we introduced the Mud Pie Cafe and our new Michigan Sandbox. Keep visiting to see what’s next!
Remember, we still have Summer Fun Passes. For $30 your whole family can have unlimited museum visits through August 31st.
Tomorrow, Saturday, June 15th is Free Access Day at the museum thanks to the Michigan Virtual Charter Academy.
Play in the museum and then join us in Sproutside for science experiments, face painting, and other fun games and activities!
The museum is open 10am-5pm and Sproutside is open 11am-4pm.
Join us tomorrow for our biggest event of the summer! There will be food, games, prizes, magic, animals, and of course, the museum! We are open 10am until 7pm, and admission is $6 per person, which includes all of the special activities. We hope to see you here!
In celebration of this silly holiday we had a watermelon seed spitting competition. Here is our leader board. Congratulations to Isabella for spitting her seed 11 feet! One grown up even made it over 20 feet! We had so much fun that we are going to do it again today.
The watermelons were very juicy, so we used some of the juice to power this clock! Other acidic foods and drinks also work, such as potatoes, apples, lemons, and soda pop. This neat little clock can be found in our gift shop, so you can try your own experiments!
