Queen Elizabeth’s Birthday Tea Party

on June 1, 2012

Did you know that Queen Elizabeth has two  birthdays? She was actually born in April 86 years ago, but she publicly celebrates every year in June. This is so that she has a public and a private birthday. The June birthday was chosen so that the weather would be nice for the celebration. This year is extra special, with her Diamond Jubilee celebration beginning tomorrow to celebrate her 60 years on the throne.

Today at the museum we had our own birthday party for Her Highness. All of our little princesses and knights enjoyed snacks and made crowns and shields. Here are two of our friends:

We will also be sending a card to the queen. If she sends a reply we will post it here 🙂

Thanks to everyone who joined us today!
